Meteorologist Iris Hermosillo joins ABC15 Mornings

ABC15’s Iris Hermosillo has been promoted to morning meteorologist for the weekday edition of ABC15 Mornings. She’ll also anchor weather coverage on ABC15 News at 11 a.m.

Iris grew up in Arizona, graduated from ASU and has immersed herself in the community since returning home 18 months ago. She regularly visits local schools to teach kids about weather and is an active master of ceremonies at Valley events.

Iris previously anchored the weekend edition of ABC15 Mornings and reported during the week.

“After an extensive search for the right person to take over the morning meteorologist position, we’ve discovered the best candidate was already here,” said Pat Costello, ABC15 News Director.  “Iris Hermosillo is a top notch meteorologist who deeply cares about the community.  She works hard every day to make sure her weather information is the most accurate so people know how to plan their day.”

“I am excited and honored to permanently join ABC15 Mornings and ABC15 News at 11 a.m.,” said Iris. “Connie Colla and Dan Spindle are an amazing anchor team and I look forward to contributing to their winning combination.”

ABC15 Mornings airs weekdays from 4:30 a.m. – 7 a.m. and was recently honored with a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award in 2013 for Best Morning Newscast.  The newscast is anchored by Connie Colla and Dan Spindle.
