PHOENIX - The families of the 19 fallen Granite Mountain Hotshots will serve as grand marshals of the 43rd Annual Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade in December.
"We are honored to have the Yarnell Hill families lead this year's Fiesta Bowl Parade," said Fiesta Bowl Board Chairman Brian Hall. "Their husbands, fathers, sons and brothers are Arizona heroes who will never be forgotten."
The fallen firefighters, part of the Prescott Fire Department, died on June 30 while battling the Yarnell Hill Fire.
"Thank you for not only recognizing the ultimate sacrifice that our brothers made, but thank you for recognizing the sacrifice it takes at home from our families," said the Prescott Fire Department in a statement. "These are hotshot families that have sacrificed many hours to allow them to do their jobs."
The parade will take place in central Phoenix on Saturday, Dec. 28 and will be presented by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
Watch the parade LIVE on ABC15, abc15.com and ABC15 Mobile beginning at 11 a.m. on Dec. 28!
"Spirit of the Southwest" is the annual parade theme, which will honor the essence of Arizona's desert landscapes and cultural heritage.
It's free to the public, but reserved seating is available for $25 through the ticket office at 480-350-0911 or www.fiestabowl.org .
