PHOENIX - ABC15 is committed to helping the victims of recent tragedies, here in our home state and in others hit hard by Mother Nature's devastating power.
We were proud to be a part of two phone banks this week -- one raising money for the 100 Club of Arizona , to help families of fallen first responders, and a second collecting donations for American Red Cross relief efforts in Oklahoma.
Thanks to YOUR generosity, we were able to raise thousands of dollars to help the families of Officer Daryl Raetz and firefighter Brad Harper , as well as victims of Monday's deadly tornado in Moore, Okla .
If you missed our efforts earlier this week, or would like to continue giving, we've compiled a list of resources for both the 100 Club and American Red Cross, as well as other agencies assisting in Oklahoma.
Donate now by visiting 100club.org or by calling 602-485-0100.
The Oklahoma Red Cross is asking people to donate by texting Red Cross to 90999 which will be a $10 donation, spokesman Ken Garcia said.
Garcia said the donations allow the Red Cross purchase needed supplies.
Those who are looking for family members can visit the Safe and Well page of the Red Cross website, Garcia said.
"We're still assessing what we need and where we will be setting up shelters," Garcia said. "We obviously don't want to get in the way of rescuers and we want to make sure it is safe but we know this will be a national relief effort."
