ABC15 hosts third annual telethon supporting Phoenix Children's Hospital

PHOENIX - ABC15 will host its third annual telethon benefiting Phoenix Children’s Hospital on April 9, 2014.

Every dollar raised will have a direct impact on patient care, along with critical programs and services provided to patients and families.

The event will be broadcast live on ABC15 between 4:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. from the main hospital tower with patient stories, a phone bank for donations and special celebrity appearances.

ABC15 on-air personalities who will be on-hand for the telethon include Connie Colla, Dan Spindle, Katie Raml, Steve Irvin, Stephanie Hockridge, Amber Sullins, Iris Hermosillo, Susan Casper and Terri Ouellette.

Donors will also have the opportunity to give a PetCake® to a patient in their name when they make a $15 monthly pledge or single gift of $180 or more. The PetCakes are a unique stuffed animal designed to comfort our young patients.

Phoenix Children’s Hospital has been undergoing a major expansion in the past several years to keep up with the demand for its world-class care. A state-of-the-art new patient tower opened in 2011, making Phoenix Children’s one of the largest children’s hospital in the country. In 2012, the Children’s Heart Center and Molecular Medicine Institute opened. In 2013, plans were announced for a new Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center to serve the nearly 80,000 kids who need its essential care each year.
